4 Games for the Campfire

Sitting around the campfire is the perfect place to loosen up, relax and get a little silly. As adults, it can be easy to get caught up in the day to day of work, relationships, and remembering to do things like personal hygiene. Especially after this year, we could all use a good laugh! You’re never too old to have some fun and these classic games are simple, easy and oh so much fun!

  1. One Word Ghost Story
Each person in your group contributes to the telling of a spooky ghost story using only one word at a time! Together, you’ll build a ridiculous and hopefully scary ghost story!

Adult Version: Take a drink if you pause to think of what word to say when it’s your turn!

  2. Winking Assassin
One person is nominated as “Mr. Green” (a.k.a the moderator) who discretely designates someone as the assassin. Mr. Green can inform players of their role by going around and whispering into each person’s ear “you’re a player” or “you’re the assassin.” When the game begins, everyone goes on as normal. Throughout the night, the assassin will discreetly wink at players which will immediately cause that player to die dramatically. The more dramatic the death scene the better! Murdered players cannot reveal the identity of the assassin. As the game goes on, living players are allowed to make guesses as to who the assassin is. If the players correctly guess the assassin, they win! If no one guesses correctly before the assassin has winked at all the players, then the assassin wins the game! This game can go on as long as your party wishes.

    Adult Version:
Every time a player makes an incorrect guess on who the assassin is, they take a drink.

  3. Alphabet Game
Starting with the letter A, each person says a word starting with the letter of the alphabet going in order from each player. For example, the first person may say “apple” with the next person saying “bananas” and so on as you go through the entire alphabet. If you want to make it even more challenging, choose a theme such as movies or animals. This games becomes more challenging as it progresses. Good luck with the letter z!

Adult Version: If a player says the wrong letter for their word when it’s their turn, take a drink! If a player pauses for too long while trying to think of their word - take a drink! If you’re playing with themes and a player says a word that’s not included in that theme - take a drink!

  4. True Story
When it’s your turn, roll a dice in a hidden place where no other player can see. If the number on the dice is even, tell a truth about yourself. If the number is odd, tell a lie about yourself. Each player guesses whether or not the story is a truth or lie.

Adult Version: For everyone who guessed wrong, they take a drink. If everyone in the party guesses correctly - YOU take a drink!
