6 ways to take your s’mores to the next level

As the leaves begin to turn, many of us are finding ourselves facing more changes than just the weather this fall. Some of us are learning how to coax an eight year old into focusing on a Zoom call while continuing to adjust to working from home while others are strapping on those masks and heading back to work “in person” after months of quarantine. It’s fair to say that after a weirder than normal summer, we’ve earned a little indulgence this fall! The Glamp Queens are celebrating this fall by focusing on those little things that bring us comfort. From savory foods to chunky sweaters, we hope you embrace this change of season by giving yourself a little extra love this fall.

With the Autumn Equinox setting in on Tuesday, September 22nd, there was an actual shift in the weather here in north Texas. After weeks of blue skies and ninety degree weather, suddenly the days turned to cool, crisp and overcast. What a relief after this crazy summer! There’s a lot of change going on all around us this season with new jobs, moving to a new apartment, and traveling to places we’ve never been before. With the leaves beginning to change as our lives turn in new directions, you can be sure we’re indulging more than ever in our cozy slippers and hot tea.

One of the most comforting and happy memories of camping we thought of when writing this came from sitting around a campfire, snuggled up in blankets and roasting marshmallows. S’mores are still one of our favorite parts of camping but as we get older, sometimes we forget to stop and enjoy these classic treats from our childhood. Growing up, we’d get the jumbo sized milk chocolate Hershey’s bar, the extra puffy marshmallows, classic graham crackers, and of course - peanut butter! It’s always been funny how everyone has what they consider to be the “right” way of roasting a marshmallow. Debates always seem to break out between the lightly roasted golden and those who prefer the completely burnt, fire roasted style of marshmallows. But in all reality, who doesn’t love a good s’more? This classic treat will never go out of style! It’s hard to find a more simplistic perfection for a campfire sweet. But there’s no harm in jazzing it up from time to time. Here are some of our favorite glamped up s’mores. But don’t take our word for it. Experiment! We dare you to try as crazy a combination as you can!
